jamie_nobJamie Haggerty just finished the sound mix for North of Blue! He has been working on it for 10 months, from late June 2016 to April 2017. Jamie used Ableton Live and Studio One Pro to compose original music and create the sound design and effects for this abstract feature film.

Jamie is a true Renaissance man. He was composer, sound designer, senior director, After Effects artist, compositor and editor at Flying Rhino (Portland, OR) for 16 years. He is also an excellent animator. I first met him at Will Vinton Studios where he was an armature designer, composer and sound designer. Jamie also did sound design and music for three of my short films: Dew Line (2005), Relative Orbits (2004, documentary) and Utopia Parkway (1997).

Every time I worked with Chris Barber, who did additional sound effects for North of Blue, we always commented on how much we loved Jamie’s wonderful music and how it always became ear worms that played in our heads for days. (Wikipedia: An earworm is “a catchy piece of music that continually repeats through a person’s mind after it is no longer playing.”
